Akshaya Tritiya Significance

Akshaya Tritiya Ritual
1. On this day people take a bath in the holy river or at home. Then worshiping Lord Vishnu, Goddess Laxami and Lord Ganesha by offering them Tulsi, sandalwood, ghee lamps and sweets.
2. After this they chant Lakshmi or Vishnu Sahasranama Mantras as it is very auspicious. Also, as a ritual part people also give rice, barley and white sesame seeds.
3. Feeding cows and birds are considered very auspicious. You can also distribute food items, sugar, and water to needy people. It is also recommended to donate food items and milk to Brahmins.

1. Appearance of Mata Lakshmi

Akshaya Tritiya is the day when Lord Parshuram was born, who was the 6th Avatar of Lord Vishnu. As he was born in the Brahmin family, he had the body strength of a warrior.
3. Sudama’s offering and the Akshaya Patra
On this day, Lord Krishna's friend Sudama, went to him with some rice. Krishan was happy with his love and devotion, so he blessed him with wealth.

On the day, God Sun gave Yudhishthira a special pot named Akshaya Patra, which would always have food and would never go empathy.
5. Beginning of Mahabharata
